Spring Session 1: Illustration - Students will apply their knowledge of painting and drawing techniques towards creating characters for illustration. -Characters can be realistic or fanciful illustrations and students may use a medium of their choice as they bring characters to life. -Time will be spent on rounding out their character’s traits as students develop their individual style and begin to generate ideas for a story. Spring Session 2: Character & Story Creation - Students will take characters they have created and write a simple story to  be illustrated. -The goal is to have a short story written & illustrated by the end of the session in a comic strip, graphic novel style, or a children's picture book format.
