Summer Program FAQs
Do you offer sibling or multi-week discounts for summer programs?
No, we do not. - We make a significant effort to keep summer program costs as low as possible. As a result, you will find that Total Arts! summer fees are lower than most other area creative arts full-day programs. - In order to maintain a high quality program with qualified staff we cannot afford to offer an additional sibling or multi-week discount on top of our current rates.
If I receive a credit for withdrawing, what can I use that credit for?
Any credit you may receive for withdrawing from a summer program will be put into your Total Arts! account and can be used towards any class, workshop, event, summer program, or birthday party for anyone in your family. -Credit is good for one year from the date it was placed into your account.
My child requires assistance and/or accommodations at school. Is Total Arts! a good fit for them?
Maybe! - We want to be able to welcome any child into our programs and we do our best to accommodate a variety of needs. - That said, our summer programs tend to fill up so they can be noisy, they involve messy art projects, and it may take several steps over a few days to complete a given project. - Plus, our staff to student ratio will not allow for dedicated one on one instruction. - If any of these are potential issues for your child please contact us before you register in order to discuss if we are a good fit.
Do you offer payment plans to help spread out the cost ?
Yes, we do! - An initial deposit would be made for the chosen week or weeks. We will spread out the remaining balance to allow for multiple payments to assist families as they budget for summer programs. - Please contact us for details about how to set up a payment plan.
Can you switch program weeks after you register?
Yes! - You may switch weeks without penalty to any week that has an open spot up until 2 weeks prior to the selected program week. - Any requests made within the 2 weeks will be taken on a case by case basis. - Please contact us about switching weeks.
I see you are tree nut & peanut free. Will you accommodate other food allergens as well?
Yes we will. - We want Total Arts to be a safe space for all of our students. - When you register your child please list all allergens in the "Medical" part of your student's account. - Indicating the severity (contact vs. ingestion) helps us with our planning and logistics. - A notice will be sent to all families each week about allergens to avoid and we check everyone's snacks & lunches each day. - If your child has an EpiPen, please leave it with us each day of the program.
What is your summer program withdrawal policy?
Through March 31st: - Full refund (less processing fees) or full credit Starting on April 1st: - No refunds, but you will receive a full credit up to 3 weeks before a given week Less than 3 weeks prior, up to 2 days: - Half the fees will be given as credit 2 days prior or during the program: - No refund or credit granted
Do the kids spend all day in their focus activity (acting, music, etc.)?
Each week is filled with a range of creative arts activities which includes daily stories & art projects plus the chance for music, dance, and/or creative writing throughout the week. - The special focus activities for select weeks will typically occur in the afternoons (Musical Theater & Acting For YoungStars 2.0) although this may change day to day based on staff availability, rehearsal needs, and logistics for set & prop creation.
Why do you charge tuition for the Leadership Training program? Aren't LTAs working at Total Arts?
Excellent question! - Students in our Leadership Training Assistant program are not staff. The LTA program provides opportunities for leadership development and also allows students the opportunity to create projects, participate in activities, and perform on stage. LTAs will gain valuable leadership skills as they assist younger students in the program but will not be given full responsibility for any of our program elements. The nominal fee that is charged only partially covers the cost of running the LTA program such as oversight of participants by summer staff and the LTAs use of materials as they participate in the program.
